Rider Name: Eric Schettler

Forum HandleEric Schettler

Nickname(s): Schett

Current Bike: 2012 KX450

AMRA Class & Number: AA, #9

Favorite Bike You’ve Ever Owned: KX450.

Favorite Race Memory: Finishing the Baja 1000 in the top 10% overall with some close friends.

1st Race: MX race at ET Motopark. Didn't go well. The kid next to me was doing burnouts on the concrete thinking he was gonna take the holeshot but when the gate dropped he hooked up, looped out, and took me down with him.

Favorite Place to Ride: Dove Springs OHV

Coolest Person (Famous) Met: Kendall Norman

Who would you like to meet? There's not really anyone that I am dying to meet

Worst Crash: Pre-running for 07 Parker 250. I had never been there before and thought I was on the traditional course but wasn't.  The trail I was on looked like it continued straight ahead and up a hill. Just as I hit the throttle for the hill ahead I saw the barbed wire fence that had since been installed. I saw the head high wire when it was about a foot from my face and I was doing at least 40 mph. The wire hooked under my chin and sent me flying. I got pretty lucky all in all. Just a ruined day of riding, a lot of blood, and a helicopter ride.

Profession: Mechanic for Kelly's Kawasaki/Victory of Mesa

Family: I'm an only child and single so none unless my parents still count.

Home Town: Palos Verdes Estates, CA

Current Town: Mesa, AZ

Riding Aspiration: To stay competitive with the younger generations.

Non Motorcycle Related Hobby: I guess home improvements. My life is at least 90% motorcycle related.

Dumbest Thing Ever Purchased (Bike Related): Maybe not ever but....... $500+ Shoei on closeout for $250.  Was an XL but I thought with the thicker pads they sell that it would fit like a L. After break in and a little sweat it becomes just too loose.  Now it sits on a shelf.

Favorite Movie: The MOTO.

Favorite Book: I don't think I have ever read a book cover to cover.  Boring.

Favorite Music: Just about everything.

Favorite Food: Real Mexican (like in Mexico).

Farthest you’ve ever traveled: Not far. A few US states and Mexico

How did you meet your significant other: Haven't found her yet.

Most Embarrassing dirt bike moment: Getting beat by a 12 yr old on an 85 at the Laughlin Hare Scrambles a few years back and having plenty of friends on hand to rub it in.  I didn't even have that bad of a race either.  He just flat out beat me.

How did you get involved with the RockStars: After racing AMRA for a couple of years it just became time to get involved. I live in Mesa and the Rock Stars are a good group of people so it was a good fit.

Cool or Interesting Fact About You: I have never broken a bone.
